Detour: The way to breakthrough email attachment size limitation

Hong Kong SAR, People' s Republic of China – 8 July 2010 – Center for E-Commerce Infrastructure Development (CECID), The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is delighted to unveil its brand new product – Detour – which offers a hassle-free way to breakthrough email attachment size limitation. Fully compatible with MS Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird, it is designed to address the file size constraint and security concern in sending email attachment.

“When sending a large attachment file with email, very often delivery failure is resulted due to the small attachment size limit. Most users resort to inconvenient and insecure alternatives, losing control over their files,” say the Development Team of Detour. They continue to remark, “Detour is the first on-premise file exchange server that takes pressure-off email server in sending large attachment. It is an enterprise solution for sending large file securely and at low IT overhead.”

Apart from allowing you to send email attachment in any sizes without hassle, Detour offers sophisticated monitoring and management of the file transfer process: (1) you can monitor the progress of the file delivery status, (2) control who can read / download the files, (3) regulate the time in which the files are kept in Detour server, and so on. What's more, Detour will handle the file encryption behind-the-scene for you. Hence, your file data is fully protected during the file delivery.

Setting up Detour is easy and it can integrate seamlessly with popular email clients: MS Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird, and your existing network infrastructure. You can just send and receive files of unlimited size exactly the same way as you used to do with your email application.
